Florida Statutes require that the Clerk of the Circuit Court and County Comptroller act as Ex-Officio Clerk to the Board of County Commissioners. The Clerk and Comptroller's Board Records Department maintains an office in the Sarasota County Administration Center in downtown Sarasota, providing products and services to citizens, the Board of County Commissioners, county administration, and county staff.
Through the Board Records department, the Clerk and Comptroller, as Custodian of Official Board Records, attends, digitally records, accepts and files paperwork related to various meetings, and produces and maintains minutes of the Board of County Commission, Charter Review Board, Planning Commission and Value Adjustment Board meetings. The Clerk and Comptroller also serves as the Clerk and Recorder for Code Enforcement hearings, and maintains custody of the official seal for the Board of County Commissioners.
Board of County Commission meeting minutes, ordinances, resolutions, and contracts beginning from 2002 to present can be accessed online in a searchable format in the Board Records Public Access Portal.
Staff members serve citizens by providing copies of meeting minutes and all other official documentation upon request. Board Records business offices are located at 1660 Ringling Boulevard, Sarasota, Florida, on the second floor of the Administration Center, Suite 210, or can be reached at (941) 861-5279 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
