Who is the Clerk and Comptroller?

Karen E. Rushing, Sarasota County's Clerk of the Circuit Court and County Comptroller is a Public Officer, a person in the service of the government and the people, who derives her position from a legally authorized election and whose duties are continuous in nature and defined by rules prescribed by government. As an elected official, the Clerk and Comptroller must be responsive to the constituency being represented. The very nature of the office and the extent of services being provide mandates that the Clerk and Comptroller's actions and decisions be constantly subject to public evaluation.
