Accounting Services

• Is responsible for all financial reporting to federal, state, and local agencies
• Coordinates Sarasota County's annual external audit
• Oversees all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems
• Ensures compliance with appropriate GAAP regulatory requirements and Office of Management and Budget audit requirements (A-133)
• Maintains internal control safeguards

Accounts Payable

• Processes all invoices for services and goods provided to the Board of County Commissioners
• Preaudits and verifies that expenditures paid are legal and serve a public purpose
• Makes payments in accordance with Sarasota County's adopted budget
• Provides a paperless, electronic process

Payroll

• Provides payroll services for county employees, including:
  • Board of County Commissioners
  • Clerk of the Circuit Court and County Comptroller
  • Property Appraiser
  • Supervisor of Elections
  • Tax Collector
• Is responsible for all federal and state reporting requirements which are salary-related
