Florida Statutes require that the Clerk of the Circuit Court act as Ex-Officio Clerk to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC).  The Clerk of the Circuit Court's Board Records department maintains an office, located on the second floor of the Sarasota County Administration Center at 1600 Ringling Boulevard, which provides service to the citizens, BCC, and county staff.

 

The Board Records department is responsible for coordinating and compiling BCC agendas. The department produces and maintains minutes of BCC proceedings, as well as digital recordings of the meetings.  Additionally, the department maintains custody and control of the seal for the Board of County Commissioners, maintaining all of the official papers and instruments of the BCC.  Board Records staff is available to the public, to assist with research and to provide copies of these documents upon request.

The minutes from the meetings of the Advisory Committees are filed for the record with the Board Records department, and are available to interested parties.

Board Records also serves as Clerk and Recording Secretary to the Planning Commission Advisory Board, Charter Review Board, Code Enforcement Special Magistrate, and the Value Adjustment Board (VAB).
